Welcome!

As you enter the small town of Marshall, Illinois...most people notice something very different. No, it's not the several gazebo's around town that is one of Marshall's noteable landmarks. If you look closely, you will find paw prints painted on the roadways. Follow those paw prints and you will find yourself at the Marshall High School, 806 North 6th Street, THE HOME OF THE MARSHALL LIONS.

Notes From Head Coach, Todd Evers

Lions Fans,

First of all, I want to thank all of our loyal fans who came out to support us on Friday night. It was great to see the stands packed for our home opener.

I have to say that I was extremely pleased with the way both our offense and defense executed. Defensively, we were flying to the ball, tackling well, and playing assignment football. Offensively, we established our running game early and often. The offensive line did a tremendous job in paving the way for Andre Strohm's rushing performance.

Three school records were either tied or broken on Friday:

Rushing Yards in a game(individual): Andre Strohm, 317 yards
Previous record was held by Steve Duzan, 313 yards, Vs. Edwards County (1994)

Touchdowns in a game(individual): Andre Strohm, 5 TD's
Tied a record held by multiple former Lions

Rushing Yards in a game(team): 456 rushing yards
Previous record held by the 1984 Lions, 414 yards Vs. Cumberland

Next week we travel to Flora. The Wolves are coming off of a win over Cumberland and are always a solid team. I hope to see the same support in Flora that we had at Bush Field on Friday night!

Say what??

Message from the President

Wow!!!  It's the only word that I can think of to describe the opening game of the 2010 season!!!

But, that word doesn't only describe the game...It also describes the outstanding showing of support I witnessed prior to the home opener.  The parking lot and practice field was full of Lions' fans displaying their "Lion Pride" by participating in the Cow Patty Binga, Pork Burger Cookout, and listening to the great music being provided by Rob Crumrin!  It began as an awesome night before the game and ended on an even better note with the commanding victory by our Marshall Lions.

Congratulations to Cliff Edington who was the winner of the "Cow Patty Binga."  He walked away with $1000.00.  Thanks to everyone who participated in this event!

Don't forget that the Marshall Quarterback Club Meetings will now be held every Wednesday and will be highlighted by game films and comments from Coach Evers.

Don't forget...if you have not yet renewed your membership, dues for the 2010 season can now be submitted.

Once a Lion...
Always a Lion!
